Nost Camera ("the app") is a camera and photo-editing app published by Unime ("we", "us"). In short: your photos, videos and face data stay on your iPhone. We do not collect, receive or sell any of your personal data. The free version shows light ads from Google AdMob (in Gallery and Edit only), which collects some device data as described in section 4. A one-time Nost Pro purchase ($5.99) unlocks every feature and removes the watermark and all ads. The app has no analytics and no accounts.
1. What the app accesses, and why
| Access | When it is asked | What it is used for |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | The first time you open the app | Taking photos and videos. |
| Microphone | Only when you record video with sound | The video's soundtrack. |
| Photos | When you first save a photo or open the gallery | Saving your pictures to a "Nost Camera" album, and showing, editing and grouping your photos inside the app. |
| Location | Only if you turn on location tagging in Settings | Writing the place a photo was taken into the photo file. |
| Internet | — | Ads (free version) and the App Store purchase (Nost Pro). |
You can change any of these at any time in iPhone Settings › Nost Camera. The app keeps working without location, microphone or full photo-library access.
2. Your photos, videos and edits
- Photos and videos you take are saved to your iPhone's Photos library.
- All processing — film looks, filters, lenses, lighting, portrait retouching, background blur, panoramas, night and long-exposure modes — runs on your iPhone. Your photos and videos are never uploaded by the app.
- Edits are non-destructive: the original is kept, and the edit settings are stored only on the iPhone.
3. Face grouping ("People") and other on-device analysis
- People groups photos by person. It finds faces and turns each face into a numeric description using a model built into the app. These descriptions are stored only on your iPhone, are never uploaded, are used only to group your photos and are not used to identify anyone by name. They are deleted when you delete the app.
- Face, person and scene detection (for portrait tools, selective edits and automatic exposure) use Apple's on-device Vision framework. Nothing is sent off the iPhone.
4. Third parties
The app has no analytics and no user accounts.
Advertising (free version). The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob, only in the Gallery and Edit screens — never on the camera. To show, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud, AdMob may collect your IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. The app does not ask to track you, so ads are not personalised with your device's advertising identifier. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland the app asks for your consent using Google's consent tool; you can change your choice at any time in Settings › Nost Pro › Ad privacy choices. AdMob never receives your photos, videos or face data. How Google uses data from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Purchases. The Nost Pro purchase is handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see your payment details; the App Store tells the app only whether your Apple ID owns the purchase.
5. What we collect
Nothing ourselves. We do not operate servers that receive data from the app. In the free version, Google AdMob collects the ad data described in section 4 under Google's privacy policy. If you email us, we use your email only to reply.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
7. Data deletion
Everything stays on your iPhone, so you control it: delete photos in the app or in Photos, or delete the app to remove everything it stored (photos saved to your Photos library stay there until you delete them).
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above.
